Choose soft bristle targets with plastic axes or real axe throwing with portable wooden boards and a metal backstop. One or two boards are available for two, four or six hours. Your venue, group size and preferred style of event will help determine the right choice.
Choose an activity that fits your team
Soft bristle axe throwing gives colleagues a plastic axe target challenge, with hire starting at £50. It can work as one station within a larger company event, alongside games and time to socialise. It is also an option to discuss for a staff family day with participants aged 8+.
Real axe throwing offers a different experience, using wooden targets and real throwing axes. Hire starts at £200. This activity is for ages 12+ and requires a suitable controlled throwing area, appropriate supervision, closed-toe shoes and sober participants. If your work event includes alcohol, schedule axe throwing before participants start drinking.
Tell us about access or support needs before booking so we can discuss suitability. An enjoyable team event should also give people who prefer not to throw a comfortable way to join in, such as keeping score or taking part in another game.
Three ways to organise a team challenge
Mix the departments: create small teams with colleagues who do not usually work together, and give everyone the same number of turns.
Improve your own score: compare each participant’s early and later rounds, keeping the focus on progress rather than only the highest total.
Run activity rotations: combine the targets with Giant Connect 4 or soft slingshot archery, allowing groups to move between stations on an agreed timetable.
These are planning ideas, not a fixed event package. Discuss the number of participants and available time with us before finalising your schedule. Two boards can offer more flexibility, but a large team still needs a realistic rotation plan and managed waiting area.
Portable hire prices for your event budget
Soft bristle axe throwing:
Two hours: £50 for one board or £75 for two boards.
Four hours: £80 for one board or £120 for two boards.
Six hours: £100 for one board or £150 for two boards.
Real axe throwing:
Two hours: £200 for one board or £300 for two boards.
Four hours: £300 for one board or £450 for two boards.
Six hours: £400 for one board or £600 for two boards.
These are prices per hire for the duration shown, rather than per person. Giant Connect 4 costs £50 per hire, and soft slingshot archery costs £50 per hire. Confirm staffing, supervision and all booking arrangements with us when putting together your event budget.
Delivery in Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire
Real axe throwing delivery is £125 extra within Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire. Delivery to other counties is quoted on request. Soft bristle delivery and collection is £30 extra. Collection from our Henlow site is free; agree suitable transport and return arrangements in advance.
As a budgeting example, two soft bristle boards for four hours, Giant Connect 4 and soft bristle delivery and collection total £200. Two real axe throwing boards for four hours plus delivery in Beds, Herts or Bucks total £575, before extras. For mixed activities, send us your full requirements so we can confirm a combined quote.
Check the venue before booking
An office courtyard, event venue or outdoor space should be discussed with us on its own merits. Send your postcode and photos of the proposed area, including the surface and access route. We will need to consider nearby doors, walkways, other activities and where waiting participants can stand.
Speak to the venue manager about permission, supplier access and any documents they require. Allow time around the hire window for the agreed setup and collection arrangements. If the activity will be outdoors, discuss weather and shelter in advance; portable hire does not automatically include cover.
DBS checks, qualifications and insurance
Bermuda Blades is insured, and our team includes DBS-checked, qualified axe throwing instructors. Tell us about your organisation’s supplier checks and the information your event lead needs to review. We can discuss the relevant insurance, qualification and DBS details for the service and people involved in your booking.
Agree how the activity will be run and supervised before confirming your plans. Equipment hire prices should not be taken as confirmation that an instructor will attend. Clear responsibilities help you coordinate the activity with the rest of your company event.
