Our portable setup uses wooden axe throwing target boards and a metal backstop. You can hire one or two boards, depending on your plans and the space available. It is a compact activity to discuss with your venue early, with the throwing area and supervision arrangements agreed before the day.

Axe throwing can give guests a shared challenge while different groups get to know each other. Friends from work can team up with family members, or the wedding party can enjoy a simple score challenge. Keep the emphasis on taking part and cheering each other on, with equal turns for anyone joining a competition.
You do not need to turn your wedding into a tournament. A relaxed activity window can work just as well, giving interested guests time to try something new while others enjoy conversation or another game. Tell us your approximate guest numbers so we can discuss a practical plan for one or two boards.
When should axe throwing fit into the wedding day?
Plan the activity around your ceremony, photographs, meal and speeches. Speak to your wedding coordinator before choosing a hire period, and allow time for access, setup and packing away. A two-hour hire may suit one focused activity window, while four or six hours can provide more flexibility around the wider schedule.
Real axe throwing requires sober participants. Arrange it before participants start drinking alcohol, and make this clear in your wedding information. Guests also need closed-toe shoes, so anyone planning heels or open sandals should bring suitable alternative footwear. Real axe throwing is for ages 12+.
Real axe throwing wedding hire prices
Choose the full hire duration below. Prices are per hire, rather than per guest:
Two hours: £200 for one board or £300 for two boards.
Four hours: £300 for one board or £450 for two boards.
Six hours: £400 for one board or £600 for two boards.
Delivery within Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire is £125 extra. Other counties are quoted on request. Collection from our Henlow site is free; discuss transport, setup and return arrangements with us before choosing this option.
For example, one real axe throwing board for four hours with delivery in Beds, Herts or Bucks comes to £425. Two boards for the same duration with delivery comes to £575, before optional extras. Staffing, supervision and the final booking arrangements should be confirmed with us when enquiring.
What does your wedding venue need to know?
Ask your venue whether it can accommodate an axe throwing activity before you book. Send us the venue name, postcode and photos of the proposed area so we can discuss suitability. The surface, access route, nearby walkways and separation from other guests all matter. The metal backstop forms part of the equipment; the whole activity area still needs to be assessed and managed.
Agree where waiting guests will stand, how the throwing area will be controlled and who will supervise it. If the activity is outdoors, include a weather plan in the discussion. Portable hire does not automatically include a roof or the covered lanes available at our Henlow venue.
Qualified instructors, DBS checks and insurance
Bermuda Blades is insured, and our team includes DBS-checked, qualified axe throwing instructors. We bring our experience of introducing people to axe throwing into the planning conversation, helping you identify what needs to be agreed with your venue and event organiser.
Your venue may want to review insurance information and the arrangements for running the activity. Tell us what it needs when you enquire, including any documentation or supplier requirements. We can discuss the relevant qualification, DBS and insurance details for your booking. Confirm instructor attendance and supervision with us rather than assuming these are included in the equipment hire price.
Add games for a varied wedding activity area
Giant Connect 4 is £50 per hire, and soft slingshot archery is £50 per hire. These can give your event another activity station, with suitability and supervision agreed in advance.
If you are considering a plastic axe option for guests aged 8+, ask about our separate soft bristle hire. One board costs £50 for two hours, £80 for four hours or £100 for six hours; two boards cost £75, £120 or £150 respectively. Soft bristle delivery and collection is £30 extra. Ask us for a combined quote if you want more than one activity.
