What is soft-bristle axe throwing?
Players throw plastic axes and shurikens at specially designed bristle targets. The equipment is different from real metal axes and wooden target boards, making this the younger-player option at Bermuda Blades. Guests take turns, compare scores and practise their aim.
Soft-bristle sessions are available for ages 8+ and are self-supervised by the adults attending. An adult should stay involved, follow the venue instructions and help children take turns responsibly.
How much does a family session cost?
One lane, up to six guests, 30 minutes: £20.
One lane, up to six guests, 60 minutes: £30.
Two lanes, up to 12 guests, 30 minutes: £40.
Two lanes, up to 12 guests, 60 minutes: £60.
These are session prices for the stated lane capacity. For example, a 30-minute one-lane session with six guests is £20 for the group, not £20 each. Fewer guests can still use the lane; you do not need to fill all six spaces.

Should you choose 30 or 60 minutes?
A 30-minute booking is a simple introduction or an extra activity alongside another outing. A 60-minute booking gives the group more time to settle into the technique, try different games and give everyone several turns.
Think about how many people will be sharing the lane. A larger group takes longer to rotate through a round, so extra time can make a difference. Children’s attention spans and the rest of your day matter too.
Can older children and adults try real axes?
Real axe throwing is available for ages 12+, with instructor guidance and the required adult supervision for younger participants. It uses different equipment and has different prices. If your family has a mix of ages, ask about booking one lane for real axes and another for soft-bristle throwing at the same time, subject to availability.
Do not assume a soft-bristle booking includes real axes, paper challenge targets or a coached real axe session.
A soft-bristle birthday outing
Soft-bristle throwing can be a fun birthday activity for children aged 8+. Tell us the guests’ ages, numbers and preferred date so we can suggest an arrangement. Standard lane hire is separate from the real axe birthday package for ages 12+, which includes personalised items and a host.
Ask for a quote if you want a birthday arrangement with extras. This avoids planning around items that are not included in a normal lane booking.
Make the most of a visit to Henlow
Both lanes are covered, though the venue is outdoors, so dress for the temperature. Free parking is available on site. Adventure golf and the Koi Café are nearby on the wider campus; check their opening times and book or pay for them separately.
