Same axe. Same board. Bring your best.

Every participant uses the competition axe and throws from behind the red line. All competition throws take place in lane 2 on the same target board, so everyone takes on the same challenge.

Need a pointer before you start? Throwing demonstrations are offered to all participants.

Every throw could make the difference

We add up all nine scored throws. If the leading totals are tied, here’s how we separate them:

  1. Most bullseyes: the tied scorecard with more bullseyes ranks higher.
  2. Count back from throw 9: if bullseyes are also tied, compare the ninth throw, then the eighth, seventh and so on back to the first. The higher score at the first difference wins.
  3. Still identical? The remaining tied entrants will be invited to a supervised sudden-death throw-off, free of charge. Each remaining entrant takes one throw per round. Scores are compared only after everyone has thrown; the highest score wins, or those tied for the highest score continue to another round until one winner remains.

For example, with equal totals and equal bullseye counts, a 7 on throw 9 beats a 5 on throw 9. If throw 9 is equal, compare throw 8 instead.
